“Wanderer Drying Sails” black and white scrimshaw on sperm whale’s tooth by Dan Cronan. Highly detailed work by Cronan done in 1996. Note the tight cross hatching on the drying sails as well as the subtle stipple work in the background for the clouds. Also, note the two men walking on the wharf.
